Life after racing
Sep 13, 2016
Not long ago we retired stable favourite Turbulent Jet.
It has always been important to us that we find the best of homes for our retirees and given TJ was an especially kind and quiet horse we asked the Australian Turf Club find a job for our gentle giant, after all they did use him as the resident model for their photoshoots with the Daily Telegraph, Sydney Morning Herald & other race day features.
TJ joined the ATC Mounted division last week. He is in training to be a security horse on race days and in carnival time.
Today he had some sensory training out at Randwick and reports are that he is doing a great job and looks destined to have an important role in Raceday security in years to come.
Special shout out to Linda Duckworth & her staff of Fairview Park Stud who do an unbelievable job and nursed this boy back to good health after he suffered an infection shortly after being retired. They do a wonderful job with all our horses.
Also a special thankyou to Darren Pearce & Steve McMahon of the ATC for the blatant nepotism giving TJ a job. LOL!!
